[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 10월 15일 한국외식과학고는 양주시청 원형광장에서 코로나 대응 업무로 지친 시청 직원들을 응원하고 격려하기 위해 ‘찾아가는 일일 푸드트럭 캠페인’을 운영했다고 밝혔다.

이번 캠페인은 지역 내 코로나19 확산 방지를 위해 밤낮없이 방역업무에 힘쓰고 있는 보건 의료인력에 감사의 마음을 전하고 누적된 피로감 해소를 돕기 위해 마련했다고 했다.

한국외식과학고 재학생, 교사 등 10여명으로 구성된 푸드트럭 봉사단은 코로나19 감염 예방을 위해 주문 메뉴를 커피 등 음료와 단팥빵으로 한정했으며, 시청 직원들은 마스크를 착용하고 사회적 거리두기 등 방역수칙을 철저히 준수하는 가운데 부서별로 정해진 시간대에 맞춰 푸드트럭을 방문해 간식을 수령했다고 전했다.

이희빈 교장은 “이번 행사에 사용된 푸드트럭은 지난해 특성화고 학생들의 원활한 창업교육 여건 마련과 예비 청년 창업자들의 실무능력 배양, 창업의욕 고취를 위해 양주시에서 중고 트럭 구입비를 전액 지원해 제작된 것”이라며 “보이지 않는 곳에서 헌신하는 코로나 대응인력과 의료진들에게 작은 위로와 에너지 충전의 계기가 되길 기대한다”고 전했다.

양주시 관계자는 “코로나19로 모두가 어려운 시기에 따뜻한 마음을 나눠준 한국외식과학고 학생과 교직원 여러분에게 진심으로 감사의 말씀을 드린다”며 “위드코로나 시대를 맞이해 급변하는 사회환경에 신속히 대응할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
