[김현우 기자 = 가평] 가평군은 중소벤처기업부 공모사업인 ‘2023년도 전통시장 특성화 육성사업’과 경기도 ‘전통시장매니저 지원사업’에 관내 3개 전통시장이 모두 선정됐다고 10일 밝혔다. 

군은 이번 공모사업으로 인해 2년 동안 국ㆍ도비 포함 16억6천여만원을 확보하는 쾌거를 이루었다.

가평잣고을시장은 문화관광형시장 육성사업에 선정되어 앞으로 2년간 총 8억8천만의 사업비를 확보, ‘음악도시 가평’ 관광ㆍ문화ㆍ체험이 어우러진 시장, 변화에 앞장서는 시장으로 만들어 갈 계획이다.

청평여울시장은 특성화 첫걸음 기반조성사업과 화재알림시설 설치사업에 선정되어 확보된 사업비 3억1천만원으로 전통시장 고객서비스 개선을 위한 다다익선2.0 캠페인과 전통시장 ESG활성화 및 고객의 안전한 시장방문을 위한 계기를 마련하게 됐다.

설악눈메골시장은 디지털전통시장 육성사업과 시장경영패키지 지원사업으로 사업비 3억8천만원을 확보, 앞으로 2년 동안 온라인 입점과 배송인프라를 갖춰 시장 매출증대 사업을 진행할 예정이다.

지난 해 12월 관내 3개 전통시장은 경기도 시장매니저 지원사업에도 모두 선정되어 사업비 9천만원을 확보한 바 있다.

그 동안 가평군 3개 전통시장상인회에서는 전통시장 활성화를 위해 상인 디지털 교육, 상인동아리 활동 등 역량강화에 힘을 쏟았으며, 각종 사업을 통해 지역 발전에 많은 기여를 하고 있다.

가평군은 지난 해 설악눈메골시장에서 전통시장 방문고객 편의를 위한 주차장 건립 사전 컨설팅을 진행했고, 올해는 청평여울시장도 전통시장 시설현대화사업에 대한 컨설팅을 진행할 예정이다.

서태원 가평군수는 “최근 겪고 있는 경제적 어려움으로 힘들어하는 전통시장에 2023년도 지원사업은 시장과 지역경제 발전에 마중물이 될 것으로 기대하고 군에서도 적극적으로 지원하여 누구나 찾고 싶은 전통시장으로 만들겠다”고 밝혔다.
