[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 강릉시는 추석을 앞둔 오는 5일 홍제동 LH미디어촌 5단지에서 복지종합상담소를 운영한다고 밝혔다. 

강릉시는 5월부터 매월 관련부서(복지정책과, 보건소, 생활보장과 등)와 연합해 취약계층 다중이용시설을 방문해 약 400여 명의 시민에게 복지상담과 카카오톡 채널 ‘강릉복지 깨알톡톡’홍보, 인지선별검사, 치매파트너 가입 등의 적극행정을 추진했다. 

특히 이번 복지종합상담소는 창신동 모자 사건, 수원 세모녀 사건 등 고독사와 사회적고립가구 문제가 사회적 이슈로 대두됨에 따라 정신건강복지센터, 치매안심센터와 함께 1인 취약계층이 다수 거주하는 임대아파트를 방문하여 고독사 예방을 위한 홍보와 종합상담을 펼칠 예정이다. 

김홍규 강릉시장은 “고독사와 사회적 고립가구는 모든 행정 분야에서 관심을 가지고 집중되어야 예방할 수 있다”라고 강조하면서 “앞으로 지속적이고 긴밀한 민·관 협업 체계를 구축해 외로움 없는 따뜻한 강릉을 만들어가겠다”라고 말했다.
