[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 13일 경기주택도시공사(GH)는 광명학온 공공주택지구 내 신안산선 복선전철 실시계획 변경안이 국토교통부로부터 승인됐다고 밝혔다.

이번 실시계획 변경안에는 신안산선 학온역(가칭) 신설이 포함되어 있어, 이번 승인을 통해 광명학온지구 교통 인프라 구축이 본격화될 전망이라고 했다. 

학온역은 광명학온 공공주택지구(규모 약 683천㎡) 중심에 신설되어 2026년 개통될 예정으로, 개통 시 시흥시청역에서 여의도까지 소요시간을 급행기준 최대 22분까지 단축시킬 것으로 예측된다고 했다.  

GH는 2020년 12월 업무 협약을 맺은 LH, 광명시, ㈜넥스트레인 등 관계기관과 협력을 통해 사업계획을 확정·추진해왔다고 전했다.

GH 관계자는 학온역 개통을 통해 광명시흥 테크노밸리 종사자와 지역 주민의 광역교통 편의성이 크게 향상될 것으로 기대된다고 밝혔다.

한편, GH가 조성중인 광명학온 공공주택지구는 지난 5일 통합심의가 통과되어 상반기 중 지구계획 승인이 예상되는 상황으로, 2023년에 착공할 예정이라고 전했다.
