[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 18일 오후 3시 강릉시와 소방청이 강릉시청에서 소방심신수련원 건립을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다. 

이번 협약은 국민의 생명과 재산을 보호하는 전국 6만여 소방공무원의 건강증진, 심리안정 등 복지개선을 위해 전국 최초로 강릉에 건립되는 소방심신수련원(이하 수련원)의 성공적인 추진을 위해 마련됐다고 했다.

소방청은 올해부터‘26년까지 총 472억 원을 투입하여 주문진읍 향호리 3번지 일원에 연면적 10,760㎡, 지상6층/지하1층 규모로 조성할 예정으로, 협약서에는 수련원 건립의 원활한 추진을 위한 강릉시와 소방청 간 상호협력체계 구축이 주요 내용으로 담겨있다고 했다. 

소방청은 건립사업 시행 주체로서 올해 확보한 예산 2억 원으로 타당성 조사 및 기본계획을 수립하고, 향후 실시설계를 거쳐 건립 및 운영을 책임지게 된다고 전했다.

강릉시는 수련원의 원활한 건립을 위해 제반 행정절차 및 기반시설을 지원한다. 대상지에 수련원 건립이 가능하도록 도시관리계획 변경을 추진 중이고, 소방청과 유기적인 협력을 위해 지원인력(1명)도 파견했다고 전했다.
