[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 춘천시정부가 수도권광역급행철도(GTX-B) 연장을 위한 사전타당성 조사 용역비를 가평군과 공동분담하기로 했다고 밝혔다.

수도권광역급행철도는 강원 북부권 교통난 해소를 위한 핵심 시설이며, 사전타당성 용역 조사 결과에 따라 노선연장 변경을 국토교통부에 신청할 예정이라고 했다. 

시정부에 따르면 수도권광역급행철도 연장 사전타당성 조사 용역비 추경예산을 오는 4월 확보할 방침이며, 용역비 5억원은 가평군과 각각 2억 5,000만원씩 부담하기로 했다고 전했다.

사업비 6조 4,962억원이 투입되는 수도권광역급행철도는 인천 송도부터 남양주 마석을 잇는 급행 노선이며, 운행 횟수는 92회로 수도권광역급행철도가 춘천까지 연장될 경우 춘천을 비롯한 영서 지역의 생활권은 사실상 수도권과 다름없어지고, 특히 지역 균형발전과 관광 활성화도 크게 기여할 것으로 기대된다고 했다.

시정부 관계자는 “수도권광역급행철도 연장을 위해 모든 행정력을 집중할 것”이라고 말했다.
