또, 분석된 데이터를 공간정보로 시각화하고 상습정체지역 및 유동인구 밀집지역 분석 등을 통해 동해시 도시계획 및 각종 정책 수립 시 기초자료로 활용할 계획이라고 했다.

강성국 행정과장은 “공공데이터 개방과 빅데이터 분석을 통해 데이터 경제를 선도하고, 객관적이고 과학적인 행정 구현으로 행정의 신뢰도를 제고, 대민서비스를 향상해 나갈 방침”이라고 밝혔다.
