[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 12월 8일 동두천시 불현동 행정복지센터에서는 광암어린이집에서 어려운 이웃을 돕고 싶다며 성금 135만원을 불현동 행정복지센터에 기탁했다고 밝혔다.

광암어린이집은 20년간 꾸준한 봉사활동과 더불어 동두천시청과 사회복지기관 등에 이웃돕기 성품을 기탁, 이웃사랑을 몸소 실천하며 지역사회에 귀감이 되고 있다고 했다.

이연옥 원장은 “기부, 나눔, 봉사라는 단어는 타인뿐 아니라 자신에게 더 위로가 되는 일 같다. 저희들의 따뜻한 마음이 어려움을 겪고 있는 분들께 잠시나마 위로가 되길 바란다”고 전했으며, 기부에 동참한 교사들 역시 “모두가 힘든 시기지만 연말을 따뜻하게 보냈으면 한다. 추운 겨울 도움이 필요한 이웃들에게 작은 정성이지만 잘 전달되길 바란다”며 따뜻한 마음을 전했다.
