[김준호 기자 = 삼척시] 삼척시(박상수 시장)가 2023년도 동계 전지훈련팀 유치와 축구 스토브리그 개최를 통해 관광 비수기 지역경제 활성화를 이끌기 위해 총력을 기울이고 있다.

 

시에 따르면, 올해 1월 1일~2월 28일까지 축구·야구·육상·카누·핸드볼·태권도 등 77개팀 737명(연인원 12,046명)규모의 전지훈련팀 유치와, 24개팀이 참가하는 축구 스토브리그 개최로 두 달 동안 2천여 명의 선수와 체육관계자, 선수 가족들이 삼척을 찾을 것으로 예상하고 있다.

 

이번 동계 전지훈련팀은 종목별 초·중·고, 대학교, 실업팀 등으로 삼척종합운동장과 삼척시민체육관, 삼척복합체육공원 등에서 훈련하게 된다.

시는, 전지훈련팀에게 공공체육시설, 종목별 물품과 필요사항, 삼척시민체육관 체력단련장 사용, 국민체력100 삼척인증센터를 연계한 전지훈련팀 스포츠 의무(재활, 의무용품 지원)등을 무료 지원할 계획이다.

 

삼척시는 지난 3년간 연인원 14,967명 등이 전지훈련으로 삼척시를 찾았으며, 경제 유발효과는 총 32억 6천 7백만 원에 이른다고 밝혔다. 

 

또한, 오는 1월 9일~2월 3일까지 삼척복합체육공원 축구장 외 3개 보조구장에서 개최하는 2023년 동계 축구 스토브리그 대회에는 전국 고등·대학·일반부 24개팀 1,000여 명의 선수들이 참가해 기량을 선보일 예정이다.
