15일 강원지방기상청에 따르면, 지난 14일 오후 7시부터 이날 오전 12시까지 적설량은 주문진(강릉) 18.8㎝, 북강릉 17㎝, 삼척 13.7㎝, 청호(속초) 5.9㎝, 간성(고성) 2.6㎝, 양양 1.5㎝를 보였다.

시는 지난 14일, 13시 15분 시청 재난안전상황실에서 안전건설국장 주재로 상황판단회의를 실시하고 대설특보에 따른 기상상황 및 대처에 대해 논의한 후, 14일 15시부터 재난안전대책본부 비상 대비단계 근무를 발령했다.
