[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 고성군은 여름 해수욕장 운영기간에 화진포 해수욕장외  27개 해수욕장에서 행정·경찰·해수욕장 운영위원 합동으로 불법 폭죽놀이와 폭죽 행위에 대한 계도 및 단속을 실시한다고 밝혔다.

해수욕장 백사장에서 폭죽(꽃불)놀이는 '해수욕장의 이용 및 관리에 관한 법률' 제22조에 따라 금지된 행위로 위반 시 각 5만원의 과태료가 부과되며 이를 모르는 방문객들을 대상으로, 고성군과 해수욕장운영위원회와 합동캠페인 개최를 통하여 관광객 계도홍보에 나선다. 

이에 따라 관광객이 집중되는 해수욕장 개장기간, 관내 28개 해수욕장에서 행정․경찰․운영위원회 관계자 등이 집결하여 해수욕장 폭죽놀이 계도 및 단속과 캠페인을 실시하며 주중에는 운영위원회에서 자체 단속을 추진하고, 주말에는 군에서 단속인력을 지원해 추진하며 계도와 캠페인 위주로 하되 불응시 과태료를 부과할 예정이다.

김철연 관광과장은 “코로나19로 인한 사회적 거리두기 단계가 강화되는 가운데, 최소한의 주민 휴식공간인 해수욕장을 누구나 안전하게 즐길 수 있도록 사계절 안심비치 조성에 최선을 다할 계획이다”라고 말했다.
