[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 7월 1일 캠코(한국자산관리공사)는 지난 6월 30일 서울지방우정청 중회의실(서울특별시 종로구)에서 금융취약계층에 대한 상해보험 무료가입 지원을 위해 우정사업본부 등과 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

협약식에는 신흥식 캠코 부사장과 신대섭 서울지방우정청장, 안수경 서울지역자활센터협회장이 참석했다고 전했다. 

이번 업무협약은 경제적 부담으로 보험 가입이 어려운 금융취약계층의 상해보험 무료 가입 지원을 통한 생활 안정을 돕고자 마련됐다고 했다. 

협약을 통해 캠코는 보험료 1천만원을 기부하고 캠코 채무자를 대상으로 홍보하며, 우정사업본부는 보험 가입 및 캠코의 기부금 외 보험료를 지원하고, 서울지역자활센터협회는 기부금을 관리한다고 전했다.

지원 상품은 우체국 ‘만원의 행복보험’으로, 보험기간(1년 또는 3년)내 재해 사망금(2천만원), 재해 입원비(1일 1만원), 재해 수술비(최대 100만원) 등을 보장하는 저소득층 전용 상해보험이라고 했다.

지원대상은 기초생활수급자 및 차상위계층으로 최대 1천명(1년 만기 보험 기준)을 지원할 계획이며, 7월 1일(금)부터 캠코 고객지원센터 또는 서울중앙우체국 보험팀을 통해 선착순 모집할 예정이라고 했다. 

신흥식 캠코 부사장은 “캠코는 ESG경영의 사회적 책임을 실천하기 위해 민‧관‧공 협업을 통해 금융취약계층을 지원하는 협약에 동참하게 되었다”며, “앞으로도 캠코는 다양한 사회공헌 활동을 통해 상생․협력의 가치를 실천하는데 앞장서겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 캠코는 채권관리를 위해 실시하는 법적조치 비용을 지원하는 가계보탬e, 국민행복기금 약정채무자의 압류된 예금계좌에 대한 압류해제 비용 지원 등 금융취약계층을 위한 다양한 지원 프로그램을 운영하고 있다고 전했다.
