[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 12월 31일 양주시는 시민들의 세금 고민 해결사로 활동할 제4기 마을세무사 6명을 위촉했다고 밝혔다.

마을세무사는 취약계층, 영세사업자, 농어촌 주민, 전통시장 상인 등 세금관련 고민이 있어도 경제적 이유 등으로 세무 상담을 받기 어려운 주민에게 세무사들의 재능기부를 통하여 무료 세무 상담을 제공해 주는 제도라고 했다.

이번에 위촉된 제4기 마을세무사는 권역별로 회천생활권 김재도 세무사, 양주생활권 이익재 세무사, 광적·백석 생활권 김도용 세무사, 장흥 생활권 박승열 세무사, 은현 생활권 윤석진 세무사, 남면 생활권 이현호 세무사로 구성됐다고 전했다.

이들은 1월부터 2023년 12월까지 총 2년간 활동하며, 국세와 지방세 관련 상담을 무료로 지원하고, 단 지원사항에는 각종 신고서 작성 대행과 신고 대행 등은 포함되지 않는다고 했다. 

상담을 희망하는 주민은 전화, 팩스, 이메일 등을 통해 신청할 수 있으며, 비대면 상담이 가능하고, 기타 자세한 문의사항은 양주시청 홈페이지를 참고하거나 기획예산과 의회법무팀으로 문의하면 안내받을 수 있다고 했다.

양주시 관계자는 “올해에는 다양한 맞춤형 세무서비스를 제공하고자 권역별로 마을세무사와 찾아가는 세무상담 서비스를 운영해 나갈 계획”이라며 “복잡한 세금문제로 고민하고 있는 시민들에게 도움이 되길 바라며 지속적으로 제도를 개선해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
