이번에 위촉된 세무사들은 3기부터 활동한 김동천 세무사, 최승일 세무사로, 내년 1월1일부터 2년간 국세와 지방세에 대한 세무상담과 지방세 불복 청구 등 관련 상담을 지원하게 된다고 했다.

마을세무사는 복잡한 세무행정에 대한 전문지식이 부족하거나 과세불복 관련 비용 부담 등으로 세무사 이용이 어려운 주민들에게 무료로 세무상담과 권리 구제를 지원해 주는 제도로, 매년 무료 상담을 재능기부 형식으로 제공하고 있으며, 상담이 필요한 시민은 지역 내 마을세무사에 전화와 팩스, 이메일 등으로 문의한 뒤 무료 상담을 받을 수 있고, 다만 각종 신고서 작성 대행 및 신고 대행은 포함되지 않으며, 생활이 어려운 주민을 위한 제도인 만큼 일정 금액 이상의 재산보유자 등은 상담이 제한될 수 있다고 전했다.

박윤국 포천시장은 “마을세무사에 지원해 주신 제4기 마을세무사님들께 감사의 마음을 전한다.”라며 “복잡한 세금 문제로 고민하고 있는 시민들에게 마을세무사 제도가 실질적인 도움이 되길 바란다”라고 말했다.
