[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 17일 원주지방환경청은 지난 16일 태백시에서 쓸개가 적출된 사체가 사체처리장이 있는 위생매립장에 반입된 것을 확인했다고 밝혔다.

야생멧돼지 폐사체가 훼손되었다는 제보를 받고 현장 조사를 실시한 결과 유해야생동물 피해방지단이 야생멧돼지를 포획한 후 사체를 처리하기 위해 이송하는 과정에서 쓸개가 적출된 것을 확인했다고 했다. 

* 야생멧돼지 쓸개는 아프리카돼지열병 발생 전에 약용 등으로 소비되기도 하였으며, 이번에 적출한 쓸개의 용도는 아직 밝혀지지 않음

현재 야생멧돼지를 포획한 경우 아프리카돼지열병(ASF) 확산을 방지하기 위해 지정된 시료채취자 외에는 사체를 훼손할 수 없으며 자가소비도 금지하고 있다고 했다.

원주지방환경청은 사체를 적정 처리하지 않고 훼손한 수렵인에 대해 관련법에 따른 조속한 조치를 요청했으며, 오는 18일에는 관계기관(지자체, 야생생물관리협회 등)과 함께 공동 대책회의를 개최한다고 전했다. 

아프리카돼지열병의 인위적 확산을 차단하기 위해 밀렵‧밀거래 등에 대한 특별단속을 금년 11월부터 내년 3월까지 집중적으로 실시할 예정이라고 했다.

원주지방환경청 이창흠 청장은 “야생멧돼지 밀렵‧밀거래, 사체훼손, 자가소비 등으로 인해 아프리카돼지열병(ASF)이 확산될 수 있다”면서 “수렵인들과 국민 여러분의 불법행위에 대한 적극적인 감시 및 신고 등 협조를 당부 드린다”고 밝혔다.
