[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 11월 7일 의정부시 호원1동은 봉사단체 ‘소중한 사람들의 모임’에서 연탄 2,400장을 후원받아 새마을 부녀회ㆍ지도자회 등 20여 명이 함께 관내 도시가스가 공급되지 않는 저소득층 12가구를 대상으로 연탄을 전달했다고 밝혔다. 

이번 연탄 나눔에 참여한 봉사자들은 차량이 올라가지 못하는 비좁은 길에 위치한 대상가구 집 앞까지 줄을 이어 한 장 한 장 정성스럽게 연탄을 나르며 훈훈한 마음까지 이웃에게 전달되기를 바라는 마음으로 연탄 나눔 봉사를 실시했다고 했다.

강춘희 호원1동 새마을부녀회 회장은 “추운 겨울 힘겹게 지내시는 이웃들이 이번 겨울을 따뜻하고 건강하게 나실 수 있도록 조금이나마 도움이 되기를 바라며, 앞으로도 어려운 이웃을 위해 적극적이고 지속적인 봉사로 이웃사랑 나눔을 실천하겠다.”고 말했다.

최창순 호원1동장은 “봉사와 나눔 행사로 이웃사랑을 몸소 실천하는 회원들께 감사드리며, 호원1동 자생단체에서 모두 참여하는 연탄 나눔 행사가 다가오는 11일 관내 다락원 거주 6가구를 끝으로 도움이 필요한 이웃에게 잘 전달되어 올겨울 따뜻한 겨울나기 준비를 잘 마친 것 같아 참여해주신 모든 분들께 감사드린다.”고 밝혔다.
