[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 17일 동두천시 평생교육원 시립도서관은 남산모루 작은도서관에서 관내 초등학교 1학년~3학년 어린이 10여명이 참석한 가운데 여름독서교실을 개강했다고 밝혔다.

도서관에 따르면, 이번 독서교실은 비록 코로나19 상황이지만 체온 체크, 마스크 착용, 손 소독하기 등 방역 수칙을 준수하며 대면방식으로 진행됐으며 ‘날아라 숫자 0, 100층짜리 집’이라는 주제로 동화책 '날아라 숫자 0'을 읽고 수 크기 비교하기 및 폭탄게임, 와나바나 보드게임을 하며 친구들과 신나게 소통하는 시간을 가졌다고 했다.  

수업에 참가한 한 초등학생은 “코로나19로 친구들과 함께 놀 시간이 적었는데 남산모루 작은도서관에서 책을 읽고 함께 보드게임을 할 수 있어 너무 신났다”고 말했다.  

도서관 관계자는 “비록 코로나19로 활발한 소통과 배움의 기회가 충분하지 못하지만 이번 독서교실 참여로 도서관에 대한 좋은 추억을 가졌으면 좋겠다”고 밝혔다.
