[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 7월 14일과 7월 21일 2회에 동두천시 평생교육원 시립도서관에서는 걸쳐 성인 20여 명을 대상으로 중앙동 어수정 작은도서관에서 편지쓰기 특강을 운영하여 수강생들로부터 큰 호응을 얻었다고 전했다.

코로나19 4단계 격상에 따라 방역수칙을 준수하며 진행된 이번 특강에서는 동두천시 지역작가인 손순자 강사를 초빙하여 젊은 시절 자주 써 보았던 연애편지에 대한 추억, 요양병원에 입원한 노모에 대한 그리움을 편지로 전한 사연 등 다양한 편지쓰기 사례를 소개하고, 편지쓰기 및 낭독 방법에 대한 수강생들의 이해를 도왔다고 했다. 

이어서 “나에게 쓰는 편지-내 인생의 스토리”를 주제로 편지쓰기 시간을 가졌으며 2∼3명의 수강생들이 자신의 편지를 직접 낭독하며 지나온 인생을 돌아보는 시간을 가졌다고 했다. 

이번 특강에 참여한 수강생은 “이번 프로그램을 통해 어수정 작은도서관을 알게 되어 기쁘다”며 “시간 나는 대로 도서도 대출하고 프로그램에도 참여하여 독서와 소통의 공간으로 자주 이용하겠다”고 밝혔다.

도서관 관계자는 “어수정 작은도서관 편지쓰기 특강이 지난 2주간 코로나19에도 불구하고 수강들의 큰 호응 속에 잘 마무리되어 기쁘다”며 “앞으로도 작은도서관에서 다양한 프로그램을 운영할 예정이니 시민 여러분의 많은 관심을 바란다”고 말했다.
