『전통장 담그기』교육은 건강한 지역 농산물 이용, 지속가능한 전통식문화 정착 및 전통식품인 발효식품에 대한 관심을 높이고 바른 먹거리 보급을 위해 추진됐으며, 이번 전통장 담그기 수업은 다음 달 15일~17일 3일 동안 오전, 오후반으로 나누어 우리 식문화의 뿌리인 전통장에 대한 이론과 된장, 고추장, 막장 등 장담그기 실습 교육으로 진행된다고 했다.

이번 장담그기 교육은 슬로푸드에 대한 관심도 향상에 따라 가정에서 쉽게 만들 수 있는 전통장을 전수하는 것으로 진행되어 시민의 건강증진과 지역 농산물 소비촉진에도 기여할 것으로 기대된다고 했다.
