[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부] 27일 환경부 원주지방환경청 청장 이창흠은 오전 충북 충주시 미원스페셜티케미칼㈜에서 지자체, 산업단지공단과 합동으로 ‘화학사고 예방을 위한 밸프스 안전확인 캠페인’을 실시했다고 밝혔다. 

‘밸·프·스 안전캠페인’은 유해화학물질 취급시설 부속설비인 밸브, 프랜지, 스위치를 작업 전에 보고, 조이고, 확인하여 취급 부주의로 인한 화학사고를 예방하자는 캠페인이다. 작년 낙동강유역환경청에서 처음 시작하여 올해 4월부터 전국 동시 확대 시행하고 있다고 했다.

이번 캠페인은 유해화학물질 취급사업장에 밸·프·스 포스터, 스티커, 현수막 등을 배포하여 사업장의 자율적인 안전활동을 독려하고, 지도·점검, 취급자 교육 시 안전활동 교육 등을 병행 실시한다고 했다.

이날 원주지방환경청 화학물질관리과에서도 강원 원주시 문막산업단지 내 ㈜KCC문막공장 등 유해화학물질 취급사업장 8개소를 방문하여 홍보물을 배포하고 사업장의 참여를 독려하였다고 전했다.

이외 관내 유해화학물질 취급사업장 약 250개소에 스티커와 포스터 등 홍보물 12만장을 배포하였다고 전했다.
