특히 이 구간은 119 가평수난구조대에서 복장리 방향으로 늘 사고가 끈이질 않아 민원의 대상이었다. 이번 결정고시로 인해 90도로 꺾여있던 복장지구는 U자형 도로가 개선 되면서 수시로 발생되던 사고를 예방할 수 있어 지역민들은 환영하는 입장이라고 말했다.

김 의원은 해당 도로가 국도인 만큼 사업비를 정부에 지속적인 요청을 하도록 경기도를 설득한 결과 경기도가 정부로부터 예산을 확보하여 사업을 추진하게 되었고, , 예산을 확보한 후 위임된 권한에 따라 도로 선형개선사업은 경기도가 직접 시행하게 된다고 밝혔다.
