[김택곤 기자=영월군] 영월군이 지방소멸 위기에 능동적으로 대응하고자 생애주기별 맞춤형 지원으로 그간 단기적 시책에서 벗어나 중장기적 지역 정착을 유도하고 권역별 특화산업 육성을 위한 '영월군 인구감소대응 5개년 기본계획'수립에 본격적으로 나선다.

지난해 처음 시행된 인구감소지역 지원 특별법에 의한 지방소멸대응기금 사업으로 276억(광역계정 136억, 기초계정 140억)의 대규모 사업비를 확보하여 본격 사업추진에 나선 가운데

기금사업과 민선8기 핵심사업간 유기적 연계성을 강화하고 관계인구의 확대 및 생활인구에 대한 맞춤형 지원으로 돌봄, 정주여건, 청년일자리 등 분야별 사업을 강화해 인구유입을 최대화하고 유출을 최소화하여 능동적으로 대응해 나갈 전략이다.

또한 영월군 관내 인구의 인구이동 흐름을 분석한 결과 인근 원주시와 춘천시, 정선군으로의 전출이 높고 전출 사유는 직업 및 가족에 따른 비중이 높은점을 착안 특화산업 육성을 통한 일자리 창출을 위한 신규사업 발굴에 적극 나설 방침이다.

아울러 군은 1월 25일 대회의실에서 영월군 인구정책의 지속가능하고 실효성 있는 추진을 위한 장기적 대응계획 수립을 준비하는 자리를 마련하고 일자리, 정주여건, 문화‧관광 등 6개 분야와 관련된 인구감소대응추진단(TF) 54개 팀의 담당 직원들을 대상으로 보고회를 개최하였다.

이 자리를 통해 올해부터 시행되는 인구감소지역 지원 특례방안과 지역활력타운 공모에 사전 전략을 모색하며, 중장기 인구계획 수립을 위한 부서 간 협력방안을 논의하였다.

최명서 영월군수는 “인구감소에 대응하기 위해서는 전 부서의 유기적인 협력이 중요하다며 앞으로 관계인구 확장 및 생활인구 지원을 통해 장기적 안목에서 분야별, 계층별 맞춤형 전략을 수립해 나가겠다.”라고 말했다.
