[김준호 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 태백시(시장 이상호)는 2022∼2023년 지방소멸대응기금 220억을 확보해 오는 9월부터 사전행정 절차를 거쳐 기본· 실시설계 등 본격적인 행정절차에 착수할 계획이다.

또한,  광역기금 80억을 2026년까지 매년 20억씩 지원받아 현재 조성중인 문곡소도동 사배리골 일원 웰니스 항노화산업 특화단지 내 태백형 클라인가르텐 사업인 복합힐링센터를 조성에 나선다.

복합힐링센터는 문화복지센터, 스포츠헬스케어센터, 산림치유센터, 숲속 힐링 도서관 등의 기능이 복합적으로 이루어지는 시설이다. 

기초기금 140억을 투입해 고원체육관 후면에 2층 규모의 다목적 실내 체육관 목적으로 청정 스포츠센터를 건립하여 전지훈련 및 각종 스포츠대회 유치 확대 등에 활용할 계획이다.

아울러 황지동 일원에 지상 2층, 지하 1층 규모의 공공산후조리원을 건립하여 시민들의 관외 원정출산의 불편을 최소화하고 태백을 생활권으로 하는 인근 도계, 석포, 상동, 고한지역과도 연계하여 인구유입을 확대해 나갈 예정이다.

이상호 태백시장은 “시가 받은 2022년, 2023년 지방소멸대응기금으로 스포츠도시로서의 인프라를 확대하고 생활인구 유입은 물론 시민들의 정주여건 또한 지속적으로 개선해 나갈 것으로 기대한다”며, “앞으로도 태백시민 우선의 행복도시를 만들기 위해 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.
