[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 더불어민주당과 새로운 물결이 합당 절차를 최종 마무리하고, ‘하나의 당(당명:더불어민주당)’으로서의 힘찬 출발을 알렸다고 전했다.

김동연 경기도지사 예비후보는 더불어민주당 신입당원으로서 자랑스러운 민주당의 전통을 지키면서도 가장 민주당스러운 혁신을 주도해 나가겠다는 의지를 피력했다.

김동연 캠프는 ‘더불어민주당-새로운물결 합당수임기관 합동회의’가 15일 오후 4시 여의도 민주당 당사 4층에서 개최됨에 따라 더불어 민주당과 새로운 물결의 공식 합당 절차가 최종 마무리됐다고 밝혔다.

이날 합동회의는 더불어민주당이 지난 13일부터 14일까지 이틀 간 진행한 권리당원 투표(총 선거인단123만8천685명 / 참여:22만7천311명 / 투표율 18.35%)에서 새로운 물결과의 합당에 대한 당원들의 압도적인 찬성 의견(찬성 82.76% / 반대 17.24%)이 확인됨에 따라 진행됐다고 했다.

이날 공식 합당에 따라 새로운 물결 대표로서 지난 13일 경기도지사 예비 후보 등록을 마친 김 후보는 더불어 민주당의 신입당원이자 민주당 경기도지사 예비후보 자격을 얻게 됐다고 했다.

김 예비후보는 이날 합동 회의 모두 발언에서 자신을 ‘더불어민주당 신입 당원’이라고 소개한 뒤 “앞서 길을 만들어 온 동지들의 헌신에 보답하기 위해서라도 백배 천배 더 열심히 뛰고 폭발적으로 헌신하겠다”라며 “김대중, 노무현, 문재인 대통령이 일군 토대 위에서 이재명 상임 고문과 손을 맞잡고 약속한 정치 교체의 뜻을 이루기 위해 더욱 더 노력할 것”이라고 밝혔다.

김 예비후보는 이어 “지금 우리 민주당의 역할이 그 어느 때보다 중요한 시기”라고 진단한 뒤 “윤석열 정권의 폭주, 통합과 협치의 실종이 뻔히 보인다. 국민의 삶과 나라의 미래를 위해 우리가 나서야 한다”고 강조했다.

끝으로 김 예비후보는 “길은 멀고 임무는 막중하지만 (당원) 동지 여러분이 있기에 지금의 위기도 능히 이겨내리라 믿는다”라며 “자랑스러운 더불어민주당의 전통을 지키고 가장 민주당스럽게 혁신하며 국민의 신뢰를 얻는 길에 함께 하겠다”는 각오를 밝혔다.

한편 이날 ‘합당수임기관 합동회의’에는 윤호중, 박지현 공동비상대책위원장과 박홍근 원내대표를 비롯해 조응천‧이소영‧배재정‧채이배‧김태진‧권지웅 비대위원, 김민기 사무총장, 김성환 정책위의장, 고용진 수석대변인 등 더불어민주당 비대위 지도부와 손제범, 최윤철, 오진섭 최고위원 등 새로운 물결 지도부 등이 참석했다고 했다.

이날 합동회의에서 참석자들은 더불어민주당 새로운 물결 합당 결의의 건을 비롯해 공동 추진 위원회 설치의 건 등 5건의 안건을 의결했다고 전했다.
