[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 강릉시는 사회복지시설 이용자 등 취약계층에게 신속항원검사 키트를 무상으로 제공한다고 밝혔다.

최근 오미크론의 급속한 확산세에 대비하여 면역수준이 낮고 집단생활로 감염위험에 쉽게 노출될 수 있는 취약계층을 보호하기 위함이라고 했다.

배부는 어린이집, 사회복지시설 등 시설 단위로 지급하며, 임신부, 수급자, 차상위계층, 중증장애인 등 시설 미 이용자는 접근성을 고려하여 읍‧면‧동 주민센터를 통해 배부할 예정이라고 했다.

신속항원검사키트의 생산량을 고려하여 3월부터 우선지원대상자 2만 9천여 명에게 지원할 예정이며, 3월 첫째 주는 어린이집 영유아, 노인사회복지시설 이용자에게 우선 지급된 후임신부, 수급자, 차상위계층 등에게 순차적으로 지급된다고 했다.

강릉시 관계자는 “이번 지원을 통해 감염 취약계층의 구매 부담을 덜고 자율적인 선제검사가 가능할 것으로 기대한다”며 “오미크론 대유행 속에 지원이 차질 없이 이뤄지도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
