해당 공모사업은 전국 지자체를 대상으로 탄소중립 이행을 위한 산업전환 과정에서 피해가 우려되는 온실가스 다배출 기업의 컨설팅 지원 및 근로자 교육지원을 목적으로 추진하는 사업이라고 했다.

1차 서류심사와 2차 발표심사를 거쳐 원주시를 포함한 총 3개의 지자체가 선정됐으며, 시는 탄소 다배출 업종 중 하나인 자동차 부품 제조업에 중점을 두어 사업을 추진할 계획이라고 전했디.

원주시 관계자는 “정부의 탄소중립 추진 동참과 기후변화 대응을 위해 사업을 적극적으로 추진하겠다.”라고 말했다.
