이번 지도점검은 농수산물 수요가 급증하는 추석 명절 전 시민의 건강을 위협하는 상거래질서 문란행위를 근절하고 안전한 먹거리 기본권 보장을 위해 실시한다고 했다. 

점검 대상은 차례음식 완전 조리 식품을 포함해 제수용 품목인 대추, 곶감, 고사리, 팥(송편), 동태 등 제수용품과 선물용 소고기, 돼지고기, 과일바구니, 조기(굴비), 한과, 견과류, 인삼류 등 선물용품을 취급하는 제조·유통·판매업체·음식점이라고 했다.

오는 6일부터 17일까지 양주시는 지도점검반을 편성해 판매일 기준 원산지 표시(판매 목적의 보관·진열 중인 점검품목 포함) 여부 확인, 혼동·이중표시 여부 확인, 판매 업체별 원산지표시 사항과 거래명세표 대조·확인 등 의무사항 이행여부를 중점적으로 점검한다고 전했다.

점검 결과, 경미한 위반사항의 경우 현지 시정지도하고 원산지 거짓표시, 미표시 등 중대한 위반사항에 대해서는 관련법에 따라 과태료 부과, 고발 등 행정조치를 할 계획이라고 했다.

양주시 관계자는 “이번 점검을 통해 주요 성수품과 원산지 표시 위반 우려가 높은 품목에 대한 특별점검을 강도 높게 시행해 소비자가 안심하고 구매할 수 있게끔 원산지표시 관리를 강화하겠다”고 말했다.
