[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동두천시는 매주 관내 260여개소 종교시설의 코로나19 방역지침 이행 여부를 점검하는 등 코로나19 확산방지를 위해 총력을 다하고 있다고 밝혔다.

특히 지난해 2월, 코로나19가 국내에서 발생한 이래 한 주도 쉬지 않고 휴일 현장점검을 실시하고 있다고 전했다.  

시청 문화체육과 직원들로 구성된 점검반은 지난 8일에도 휴일 현장점검을 실시하여 마스크 착용, 대면 종교활동 진행 시 인원제한 준수 여부 등을 집중적으로 점검했으며, 또한 종교시설 주관의 각종 대면 모임 활동 및 행사 금지에 대한 내용도 함께 전달했다고 했다. 

한편 동두천시는 종교시설 외에도 노래연습장, PC방, 실내체육시설 등 다중이용시설을 대상으로 불철주야 방역점검에 매진하고 있다고 했다.

최용덕 동두천시장은 “수도권을 중심으로 코로나19가 급속히 확산되고 있는 엄중한 상황에서 지속적인 방역점검을 통해 시민들이 안심하고 생활 할 수 있도록 철저히 대비하겠다”고 밝혔다.
