[안종욱 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 12일 가평군은 10시 기준 폭염경보가 발효됨에 따라 가평읍, 북면지역에 드론조종 자격증을 보유한 군 관계자 중심으로 드론을 활용한 폭염 예찰활동을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

드론을 띄워 논·밭, 비닐하우스 등 야외활동 중인 어르신 등이 확인되면 드론을 통해 예찰활동뿐 아니라 폭염 음성방송 및 안내방송을 하여 온열질환 등 인명피해를 최소화하기 위해 앞장섰다고 했다.

가평군은 드론을 활용함으로써 인력의 한계를 벗어난 예찰활동 및 점검활동으로 큰 기대를 안고 있다고 전했다.

가평군 관계자는 “폭염뿐 아니라 다가오는 여름철 풍수해 대비에도 드론을 적극 활용하여 재난대응과 사전예찰에 만전을 기할 방침이라 밝히며, 군민들께서도 가장 무더운 오후 시간대에는 농사일과 야외 활동을 자제하고 적절한 휴식 등을 취해 폭염피해가 발생하지 않도록 해 줄 것”을 당부했다.
