[김현우 기자 = 가평] 가평군은 26일 주민 숙원사업 해결을 위해 상색리 연갈경로당 준공식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이날 행사는 서태원 군수를 비롯한 군의회 의원 및 기관단체장, 마을주민 등 100여명이 참석했다.

연갈마을은 25세대 27명이 거주하는 전형적인 농촌마을로 기존 경로당은 좁고 노후해 주민 불편을 초래해 왔다.

7개여 월의 공사기간 끝에 준공된 경로당은 군비 2억여 원이 투입됐으며, 건축면적 76.77㎡의 지상 1층 규모로 신축됐다.

이날 준공식에서 서 군수는“그동안 낡고 불편한 경로당을 주민들이 이용하는 것을 매우 안타깝게 생각했는데 이제야 마음이 한결 가벼워진 것 같다”며 “연갈마을 뿐만 아니라 상색리 주민 전체의 사랑방 역할을 할 수 있기를 기대한다”고 말했다.

가평군은 전체 인구의 약 30%가 노인인구에 따른 맞춤형 노인정책을 위해 120억원을 들여 노인회관을 짓는 등 편안하고 즐거운 노후생활을 도모하고 있으며, 현재 관내에 있는 167개의 경로당에 운영비․냉난방비․양곡비를 비롯해 어르신들의 여가활동 프로그램을 지원하고 있다.  

이와 함께 군은 노인숙원사업이자 맞춤형 인구정책으로 복지서비스 제공을 통한 노후생활안정 도모를 위해 가평읍 읍내리 일원, 연면적 2,300㎡의 지하 1층, 지상 4층 규모로 노인복지회관을 건립할 계획이다.

사업기간은 올해 지방재정투자심사 및 실시설계용역 등 행정절차를 거쳐 내년 하반기 착공해 2025년 완공할 예정이다.

또 올해 노인에 대한 소득지원 및 적절한 돌봄서비스 제공 등노후생활안정 도모를 위해 1만여 명에게 기초연금 지원을 비롯해 1,800여명에게 저소득재가노인 식사배달사업, 기초생활보장 노인가구 월동난방비․저소득 노인가구 건강보험료․재활용품수집 노인안전 지원 등을 펼쳐 나가기로 했다.

아울러 홀로사는 노인 응급안전 안심서비스 및 처우개선비, 어르신 스마트 돌봄사업 추진, 노인상담센터 운영 등 노인돌봄서비스 강화 및 취약계층 사회안전망 구축을 통해 행복한 노후생활을 만들어 나갈 계획이다.

가평군은 전체인구의 28.8%가 65세이상 노인인구다. 금년 4월말 기준 가평군 인구는 6만3005명으로 이중 노인인구는 1만8160명으로 나타났다.
