[김현우 기자 = 동두천] 동두천시는 지난 28일 송내지구 주차장(송내동 681) 조성공사 준공식을 개최했다고 밝혔다. 

준공식에는 박형덕 동두천시장, 김승호 동두천시의회 의장을 비롯한 시·도의원, 단체협의회장 및 주민 등 50여 명이 참석하여 송내지구 주차장 준공 및 개관을 축하했다.

최근 코로나19 확산 상황을 고려하여 감염예방을 위해 소규모로 개최했으며 유공자 표창과 기념사·축사, 테이프커팅, 시설견학 순으로 진행했다.

송내지구 공영주차장은 총사업비 40억 원을 투자하여 연면적 1,595㎡, 지상 3층에 주차면수 97면으로 송내지구 일원의 주차 불편 해소에 크게 기여할 것으로 기대되며, 위치적으로 송내지구 중심상권에 위치하여 접근성이 크게 용이함에 따라 지역 경제 활성화 역시 기대된다.

또한 이용자들의 편의를 위해 공중화장실과 파고라 등을 설치하여 도시미관 향상 및 인근 주민 편익 제고가 예상된다.

박형덕 동두천시장은 이날 기념사를 통해 “동두천시민의 얼굴에 웃음과 희망이 피어나는 도시로 거듭날 수 있도록 ‘동두천을 새롭게, 시민을 힘나게’ 할 수 있도록 항상 노력하겠다”라고 밝혔다.
