[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 제8대 백영현 포천시장이 취임 첫날인 1일 포천시청 재난안전상황실 방문으로 민선8기 공식 업무를 시작했다고 밝혔다.

이날 0시 백영현 포천시장은 윤충식 경기도의원, 서과석·안애경·조진숙 포천시의원들과 함께 집중호우로 인한 피해 및 대처 상황을 보고 받으며 첫 공식 일정을 소화했다고 했다.

백영현 포천시장은 “공직생활을 하며 재해예방 및 복구사업에 참여한 경험이 많다. 긴급 복구를 위한 인력과 장비가 충분한지 살피고 큰 피해가 발생하지 않도록 근무에 최선을 다해달라”며 당부했다. 

포천시는 호우 특보 발효에 따라 24시간 비상상황 근무체계를 가동하고, 기상 상황 모니터링 등을 통해 상황 관리에 최선을 다하고 있다고 전했다.

앞서 장마철 집중호우 피해 최소화를 위해 하천 범람이 우려되는 관내 하천 및 하천부지 주차장, 상습 침수우려지역 등을 미리 살피며 시민 피해 최소화를 위해 노력했다고 했다.

백영현 포천시장은 “그 무엇보다 시민 안전과 행복을 최우선으로 생각하는 포천시를 만들겠다. 시민의 목소리를 귀 기울이고, 시민의 뜻을 담은 소통행정을 펼치겠다.”고 말했다.

한편, 포천시는 같은날 10시 포천반월아트홀에서 관내 주요 기관단체장 및 포천시민이 참석한 가운데 제8회 백영현 포천시장 취임식을 개최했다고 전했다.
