[남상훈 기자 = 횡성군] 지난 22일 민선 2기 횡성군체육회장 선거에 박명서 전 횡성군축구협회장이 당선됐다. 박 당선인이 50%가 넘는 득표율을 보이며 타 후보들을 제치고 당선에 성공했다.

이번 횡성군체육회장 선거는 박 당선인을 비롯해 현 체육회장인 정명철 후보, 횡성군테니스협회장인 전기택 후보가 출마하며 3파전 구도를 형성했다. 그러나 개표 결과는 박 당선인의 압승이었다.

횡성문화원에서 실시된 선거는 총 선거인단 58명 중 56명이 참가해 96.6%의 투표율을 기록했다. 개표 결과 박 당선인이 과반이 넘는 득표율인 53.5%, 득표수 30표를 받으며 당선됐다. 정 후보와 전 후보는 각각 20%대의 득표율을 보이며 12표와 14표를 받는 데 그쳤고 현 체육회장인 정 후보는 재선 도전에 실패했다.

횡성군체육회를 이끌어갈 수장으로 선출된 박명서 당선인은 언론과의 인터뷰를 통해 “침체된 지역 체육 활성화와 예산확보에 총력을 기울여 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 둔내면 출신인 박명서 당선인은 횡성군축구협회장·양궁협회장, 횡성군새마을회장을 지냈고 제3·4대 횡성군의원, 4대 전반기 군의장. 7대 도의원 등을 역임했다.
