[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 원주시가 친환경 자동차법 개정 시행에 따른 홍보 활동을 강화한다고 밝혔다. 

법령이 금년 1월 28일부터 개정 시행됐으나, 시민들이 잘 몰라서 단속되는 사례가 많아 공동주택 주민을 대상으로 홍보물 배부, 구내방송, SNS 알림 등을 통해 홍보 활동을 강화해 나갈 예정이다.

개정된 친환경자동차법 시행령은 아파트 등을 포함한 모든 충전구역을 과태료 부과대상으로 규정했으며, 충전구역과 전용주차구역 내 일반차량 주차행위와 충전을 방해하는 행위를 하다 적발되면 과태료가 부과된다.

충전구역 및 전용주차구역에서 전기자동차 및 외부충전식 하이브리드자동차가 아닌 일반차량이 주차하는 행위, 진입로 및 주변에 주차하거나 물건을 쌓아 충전을 방해하는 행위, 충전시설을 다른 용도로 사용하는 행위 모두 단속 대상으로, 10~20만 원의 과태료가 부과된다.

또한 전기차와 하이브리드자동차가 충전구역에 장시간 주차하는 행위도 단속 대상이다.

한편, 올해 1월 28일 친환경자동차법 개정안 시행 이후, 원주시에서는 전기차 충전방해행위 관련 신고가 760여건 접수됐다. 

이 중 ‘충전구역 내 일반차량 주차’로 신고 600건, 충전방해행위 165건 순으로 접수됐고, 아파트에서 가장 많은 민원이 발생했다.
