[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 북부지방산림청은 원주시 반곡동 청사 도시숲 내에 혁신지향 공공조달을 통한 벤치를 설치, 지역주민들이 찾아와 쉴 수 있는 공간을 마련했다고 밝혔다.

북부지방산림청 청사 주변으로는 원주굽이길 5코스가 청사 도시숲과 연결되어 있어 많은 지역주민들이 방문하고 있다. 이에 청사를 찾는 지역주민들이 안전하게 쉴 수 있도록 도시숲 내 유휴지에 휴식과 체류를 위한 공간을 제공할 계획이다.

또한, 이번에 휴식공간에 설치한 벤치는 혁신지향 공공조달을 통해 구매한 민간 개발 혁신제품으로, 폐섬유 재활용 기술을 적용하여 만들어져 탄소 저감에도 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
