[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 김성원 국회의원과 박형덕 동두천시장은 지난 20일 예산당정실무협의회를 개최하고 동두천시 주요 현안 5개 사업에 대한 신속한 추진을 위해 총력을 다하기로 의견을 모았다고 전했다.

이날 회의에서는 지역발전을 견인할 현안 사업으로 접경권 발전지역사업 및 특수상황 지역개발 신규사업 선정과 동두천 국가산업단지 2단계 기반시설 국도비 확보, 문화재 보수 정비 및 전통 사찰 보수 정비사업, 경기북부 반려동물 테마파크 조성 사업에 대해 설명하고 해당 사업의 차질 없는 추진을 위한 방안을 논의했다.

이어 동두천시는 2023년 정부 예산 편성 과정에서 시의 주요 현안 사업이 정부 예산에 반영될 수 있도록 당 차원의 적극적인 협력과 지원을 건의했다.

김성원 국회의원은 “동두천 발전을 위한 소중한 사업들인 만큼 국도비 확보에 총력을 다하고 예산당정실무협의회에서 논의된 현안 사업들이 무리 없이 추진될 수 있도록 동두천시와의 협력을 더욱 강화해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

이에 박형덕 시장은 “오늘 이 자리를 통해 시의 현안과 예산 확보에 있어 당정이 함께 나아간다면, 동두천을 새롭게 시민을 힘나게 하는 새로운 변화를 위한 초석이 될 것이라 확신한다”며, “앞으로도 국회의원, 도의원, 시의원과 지속적으로 소통하고 협력하여 현안 사업의 성과를 극대화 할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 강조했다.
