[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 11월 16일 포천시는 2021년 하반기 민간감사관 현장감사를 실시했고, 이번 현장 감사는 기존 주요 사업장 위주로 감사를 실시한 것에 더해 환경 관련 민원 유발지를 함께 점검했다고 밝혔다.

이날 처음 방문한 업체는 음식물 쓰레기 재활용으로 인한 악취 관련 민원이 빈번히 발생하는 사업장으로, 이날 현장감사에 참여한 민간감사관은 지역 주민으로서 직접 거주하며 느낀 불편함과 애로사항을 대표해 시와 업체에 전달했다고 했다.

민간감사관은 “인근 양계농가 등 축산농가와 양문산단이 함께 있어 각종 악취가 혼합되어 더욱 문제가 되고 있다. 지하에 공공폐기물처리장을 설치하는 것이 장기적인 면에서 좋은 방도라고 생각한다.”라며 종합적인 대책 마련을 요구하고 의견을 제시했다.

이어 경기 포천공공산후조리원 건립 현장을 방문했고, 참석한 한 민간감사관은 “산모와 아이가 이용하는 시설인 만큼 단열과 난방, 안전 관련 시설이 중요하다.”라고 강조했다. 

포천시는 이와 관련된 사항을 추가 설계에 반영했으며, 공사 전반에 걸쳐 철저하고 꼼꼼하게 마무리해 내년 1월 차질 없이 준공할 수 있도록 추진할 계획이라고 전했다.

포천시 관계자는 “앞으로 다양한 경험과 노하우를 가진 민간감사관의 현장감사를 통해 시민과 소통하는 감사행정을 추진해 시정 신뢰성을 더욱 높이겠다.”라고 밝혔다.
