간담회에는 포천시 보훈단체연합회장인 이광호 무공수훈자회장을 비롯한 10개 보훈단체장이 참석했으며, 포천시는 보훈회관 건립을 통한 보훈 대상자 복지증진, 각종 보훈수당 지급(보훈명예수당 10만원, 참전명예수당 10만원, 독립유공자수당 20만원 등) 및 보훈단체 지원 등 다양한 보훈 정책을 추진하고 있다고 전했다.

박윤국 포천시장은 “나라를 위해 희생하고 지역사회 발전을 위해 노력하는 보훈 단체의 공헌과 노고에 감사드린다.”라며 “보훈 대상자의 예우와 복지 증진에 소홀함이 없도록 하고 보훈 대상자가 존경받는 사회 환경이 조성되도록 최선을 다하겠다.”라고 말했다.
