[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 30일 경기도의회 교육기획위원회 위원장 정윤경 의원은 지난번 국회 전국 건강장애 학생 학부모 토론회에서 나온 경기도 건강장애 학생들의 민원을 청취하기 위해 정담회 자리를 마련했다고 밝혔다.

이 정담회에서 건강장애학생 학부모들은 “건강장애학생은 비장애학생과 달리 다양한 방면에서 제약이 많다. 건강장애학생의 특성을 고려한 학습기자재, 보조인력 및 보조공학기기 지원, 학습 평가 방법 개선 및 다양한 교육기회 제공 등 학습적 지원은 물론 건강장애학생들을 위한 심리상담이 절실하다”며 토로했다.

이에, 정윤경 위원장은 “운영하고 있는 경기도교육청 소관 조례를 잘 살피겠다”며 “타부서의 협업이 필요한 부분은 소통을 통해 처리될 수 있도록 집행부서와 협의하겠다”고 말했다.

또한, “학교보건법이나 특수교육법 등 상위법령의 개정이 필요한 부분도 있겠지만, 오늘 의견주신 부분에 대해서 도교육청 관련부서와 충분히 협의해서 건강장애학생들이 비장애학생들과 같이 학교생활에 적응하여 평범한 일상생활을 할 수 있도록 지속적으로 관심을 갖고 노력하겠다”고 덧붙였다. 

한편, 오늘 정담회는 코로나-19의 확산 및 장기화로 줌(zoom)을 이용한 화상회의로 진행됐다고 전했다.

Continuous attention and efforts are required for the right to education of students with health disabilities

Jeong Yun-kyung, chairman of the Education Planning Committee of the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly, announced that he had prepared a meeting place to listen to complaints from students with health disabilities in Gyeonggi-do at the National Assembly's national panel discussion with parents of health-disabled students.

At this meeting, parents of students with health disabilities said, “Unlike students without disabilities, students with health disabilities have many limitations in various ways. Psychological counseling for students with health disabilities is urgently needed, as well as academic support such as learning equipment, support for assistants and assistive technology devices, improvement of learning evaluation methods, and provision of various educational opportunities in consideration of the characteristics of students with health disabilities.”

In response, Chairman Jung Yun-kyung said, "I will carefully review the ordinances under the jurisdiction of the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education," and "I will consult with the executive department so that cooperation between other departments can be handled through communication."

In addition, “there may be some areas that require revision of higher-level laws such as the School Health Act or the Special Education Act, but we have sufficiently consulted with the relevant departments of the Provincial Office of Education regarding your comments today so that students with health disabilities can adapt to school life like non-disabled students and lead a normal daily life. We will continue to pay attention and work hard to make it possible.”

On the other hand, it was reported that today's meeting was held as a video conference using zoom due to the spread and prolongation of COVID-19.
