[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 2월 24일 경기도의회 교육기획위원회 위원장 정윤경 의원이 중부일보 주관으로 열린 ‘제20회 중부율곡대상’에서 도민들의 삶의 질 향상을 위한 활발한 의정활동과 탁월한 입법성과를 통해 지역사회 발전 및 지방의회 발전에 공헌한 공로를 인정받아 광역정치부문에서 대상을 받았다고 전했다.

올해로 20회째 맞은 중부율곡대상은 백성을 위한 정치인의 표상인 율곡이이 선생의 민본사상을 계승하고 민생정치와 경영을 실천하고 있는 경인지역의 지도자를 찾아 1천 6백만 수도권 주민의 이름으로 표창하는 만큼 그 의미가 특별하다고 할 수 있다고 했다.

정윤경 의원은 제9·10대 의원으로 재임하며 투철한 사명감으로 도민과의 소통을 통해 지역발전 및 교육발전에 큰 기여를 해왔으며, 도민을 위한 미래지향적 입법활동과 현장중심의 의정활동으로 도민의 민생에 긍정적인 일상을 제고하고 지역주민의 불편함 해소 및 소외된 도민들의 목소리를 생생히 의정에 반영하는 성과를 일궜다는 평가를 받고 있다고 전했다.

특히, 전국 광역의회 최초로 주간 정례브리핑을 도입하여 언론을 통해 66차에 걸쳐 117건을 이어오고 교섭단체의 입장을 담은 성명서를 24회 발표하고, 92건의 보도자료를 제공하여 도민과의 소통을 원활히 하며 경기도의 정책을 소개했다고 했다.

정윤경 의원은 “주민의 이름으로 수상하게 되어 지난 약 6년간 의정활동에 대한 평가로 더 큰 의미가 있고 감사하다”면서 “얼마 남지 않은 임기동안 광역의원으로서, 교육기획위원장으로서 각계각층 지역주민들과 밀접하게 소통하며 주민에게 적극적으로 다가가는 현장중심의 의정활동을 통해 도민들의 목소리를 대변하여 군포지역과 경기도, 경기교육의 발전을 위해 최선을 다 하겠다”고 수상소감을 밝혔다.
