[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 28일 경기도의회 교육기획위원회 위원장 정윤경 의원은 군포의왕교육지원청을 방문했다고 밝혔다.

이날 만남은 군포의왕교육지원청 청사 증축 및 학교운동장 개방 등 다양한 교육 현안에 대한 세밀한 논의를 하고자 마련된 것이며, 정윤경 위원장을 비롯하여 교육장 및 행정과장, 교육과장, 성과관재팀장 등 군포의왕교육지원청 관계자와 대외협력과장 및 관재담당사무관 등 경기도교육청 관계자가 함께하여 적극적이고 심도있는 논의가 이루어졌다고 했다.

먼저 이영창 행정과장으로부터 군포의왕교육지원청 증축 개요에 대한 보고를 받고, 정윤경 위원장은 ‘지역사회와 상생·공유를 통해 지속가능한 교육공간 조성·활용을 주문’ 하며, 설계단계부터 지역사회와 학부모·시민 등 다양한 수요자의 의견이 반영된 지역 맞춤형 교육공간으로서 지역사회와 상생·공유하는 공공재로서의 역할 강화를 요구했다고 했다. 

현 군포의왕교육지원청 청사는 1992년 준공된 이후 일부 증축이 있었으나, 지속적인 정원 확대에 따른 최소한의 사무 공간 확보, 외부 설치 부서의 청내 배치, 스마트워크 업무공간 구성 등을 위해 연면적 1,648㎡, 3층 규모의 청사를 증축할 예정이며, 총 사업비 약 66억원 중 정 위원장이 2021년 제2회 추경예산 심의 당시 약 35억을 확보한 바 있으며,교육지원청 청사 증축 논의에 이어 학교운동장 등 시설 개방에 대한 논의가 이어졌다고 전했다.

이은광 교육장은 학교운동장 등 시설 개방에 대해 “학생 안전과 청소 등의 문제로 시설 개방에 대해 학교측에서 소극적인 부분이 있다” 면서 “학교장 연수 및 협의, 학생 안전대책 논의, 시설 개방 관련 학교 현장 점검 등을 통해 적극적으로 시설 개방을 할 수 있도록 유도하겠다” 고 밝혔다.

이에 정윤경 위원장은 학교는 지역사회의 공공재산이라는 점을 강조하며 “학교는 교육의 공간인 동시에 지역공동체의 중심 공간이며 교육은 이제 학교의 울타리를 넘어 마을과 함께하는 시기다” 라며 “학교 시설 개방 시 지역사회와 소통을 통해 개방할 수 있도록 하는 근거 마련이 필요하다” 라고 말했다.

더불어 적극적인 학교 개방 시 학교 평가나 교장, 행정직 등에 대한 인센티브 방안과 학생 안전을 확보하기 위한 출입구 동선 분리 등을 제안했다고 했다.

정 위원장의 의견에 대해 도교육청 관재담당사무관은 ‘시설 개방에 따른 인센티브 방안에 대해 유관 부서와 적극적으로 협의할 것과 학교시설 개방 활성화를 위한 업무 협약 체결을 지속적으로 안내할 것’ 을 밝혔다.

마지막으로 정윤경 위원장은 “교육지원청과 학교 공간을 지역주민 모두와 함께 공유함으로서 학교의 역할과 위상이 높아지고 지역공동체로서 지역사회의 학교에 대한 신뢰감을 높일 수 있도록 모두 함께 노력해달라” 며 일정을 마무리 했다.
