코로나19 확산 방지를 위해 전면 비대면으로 배송된 이번 반려화분 지원행사는 키다리 부부둥지 봉사단과 한우리 봉사단 등 의정부지역을 기반으로 활동하고 있는 봉사단체에서 도움을 주었다고 했다. 

반려화분을 선물 받게 된 한 아동은 “집 안에 화분이 있으니 집 전체가 밝아진 것 같고 활기찬 느낌이다. 예쁘게 잘 키우겠다.”며 감사한 마음을 전했다. 

안병용 의정부시장은 “아이들이 반려화분을 키우면서 우울한 시기를 극복하고 마음의 활력을 찾고 앞으로 희망찬 삶을 살 수 있도록 기원한다.”라고 말했다.
