[김현우 기자 = 양주] 양주시는 지난 13일 시청 대회의실에서 ‘양주아트센터 건립 건축 실시설계용역’ 착수보고회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 착수보고회는 올해 8월부터 10월까지 진행된 설계공모를 통해 당선된 ㈜해안종합건축사사무소와 ㈜케이지엔지니어링종합건축사사무소의 공동 출품작을 본격적으로 구현하기 위해 마련됐다.

이날 보고회에는 강수현 시장과 정성호 국회의원을 비롯해 박재용 도의원, 시의원, 실국소장 등이 참석한 가운데 과업추진계획과 주요검토사항을 공유하고 사업에 대한 의견을 수렴했다.

실시설계 용역수행기관인 해안건축은 자연녹지지역의 건폐율 제한과 토목공사 작업 최소화로 대지를 있는 그대로 활용하고 아트센터의 다양한 기능 수행과 4계절 공원으로 활용 가능한 조경계획 등을 제시하며 시민을 위한 새로운 문화공간으로 조성될 ‘양주아트센터’건축 계획을 소개했다.

양주아트센터는 총사업비 871억원을 들여 지하1층, 지상4층, 연면적 17,600㎡ 규모의 공연장과 부대・편의시설을 갖춘 양주시 최초의 전문공연장으로 건립될 예정이다.

용역기간은 착수일로부터 10개월로 2023년 기본·실시설계를 완료하고 2024년 착공해 2026년 준공을 목표로 하고 있다.

강수현 시장은 “양주아트센터 건립사업은 오페라, 클래식, 대중음악 등 다양한 장르의 전문공연을 수용할 수 있는 시설과 전시, 아카데미, 카페 등 휴식과 문화가 공존하는 복합문화시설을 조성하는 사업”이라며 “양주시민의 새로운 문화적 교류 공간으로 자리매김할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
