[남상훈 기자 = 강릉] 지난 19일 세계 최정상의 실력을 자랑하는 그라시아스 합창단의 '크리스마스 칸타타' 공연이 3년만에 강릉아트센터 사임당홀에서 열렸다. 

강릉시민을 포함에 강원도민 900여명이 함께한 이번 '크리스마스 칸타타' 강릉공연은 강릉 보헤미안커피 경포점, 디오슬로, 24프레임, 태광산업, 태진산업, 등 지역단체 및 기업들이 문화취약계층 관람을 지원해 약 100여 명의 청소년 및 독거노인들이 공연을 관람하는 뜻깊은 자리도 마련됐다.

'크리스마스 칸타타'는 총 3막으로 구성됐으며 오페라·뮤지컬·콘서트 등 다채로운 형식으로 진행됐다. 1막은 예수 그리스도의 탄생 과정을 오페라로, 2막은 오 헨리의 단편소설 ‘크리스마스 선물’을 각색해 뮤지컬 형식으로 풀어냈다. 3막은 오케스트라와 합창단이 아름다운 크리스마스 캐롤송으로 추운 겨울 관객들의 마음에 따뜻한 감동을 선사했다. 

이번 공연을 관람한 최은경씨는 ”세상엔 잘하는 합창단이 많지만 이렇게 1막부터 소름 돋게 잘하는 합창단을 만나보지 못했습니다. 전율이 흐를 정도로 감동적이었습니다. “라고 말했다. 

한편, '크리스마스 칸타타' 전국투어는 오는 22일 영남대학교 천마아트센터 공연을 끝으로 한달간의 투어 여정을 마무리한다.
