이번 행사는 회원들의 애향심 고취와 강원도 홍보 활성화를 위해 전통시장 장보기, 주요관광지 둘러보기 등 지속적인 활동을 이어가고자 하는 취지에서 실시되었다.

회원 200여명은 고향의 침체된 지역소비를 촉진하고 지역 전통시장 활성화를 위해 지역상품권을 이용, 지역 농특산물구매 후 시장 내 식당에서 점심식사를 하는 등 시장 활성화에 힘을 보탰다.

또한, 장보기 행사를 마친 후 지역의 대표 관광명소인 무릉별유천지 등 주요 관광지를 둘러봤다.

서만봉 회장은 “코로나19로 어려움이 많았을 고향 지역경제 활성화를 위해 앞으로도 동해시와 지속적으로 교류하겠다.”고 말했다.
