[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 원주시는 오는 22일부터 25일까지 3박 4일 동안 원주시청 지하 2층 충무시설에서 '2022년 을지연습'을 실시한다고 밝혔다.

전시 또는 테러같은 국가비상사태에 대비해 국가자원을 효율적으로 통제해 ▶군사작전 지원 ▶전시 정부기능 강화 ▶국민들의 생활안전대책을 강구하면서 정부의 대테러 능력을 향상시켜 국가 안전을 보장하기 위해 진행되는 연습이다.

이번 연습은 지난 2018년 한미 연합훈련 방침변경으로 잠정 유예됐던 을지연습이 5년 만에 재개되는 것으로, 10개 유관기관에서 600여 명이 참가한다.

직원 비상소집을 시작으로 전시 직제 편성, 전시를 가정한 도상연습, 테러 대비 실제훈련, 민방공 대피 훈련 등을 실시한다. 

한편, 을지연습은 1968년 1월 21일 청와대 기습사건을 계기로 태극연습이라는 명칭으로 처음 시작해, 1969년 고구려의 을지문덕 장군의 이름에서 따와 을지연습으로 명칭을 변경했다.
