[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 김은혜 국민의힘 경기도지사 후보가 ‘일산대교 통행료 무료화’를 적극 추진한다고 밝혔다.

김 후보는 지난 20일 일산대교 톨게이트 옆에서 가진 기자회견를 통해 이 같은 의지를 밝히고, 고양‧김포 등 경기도민의 자유로운 통행권 보장을 약속했다고 전했다. 

이 자리에는 김 후보를 비롯해 이동환 고양특례시장 후보, 김병수 김포시장 후보, 홍철호 김포을 당협위원장, 권순영 고양갑 당협위원장, 박진호 김포갑 당협위원장 등 해당 지역 국민의힘 인사들이 참석해 힘을 보탰다고 했다.

이 밖에 금빛누리시민연합회(김포시 시민단체) 최재형 회장, 김검시대(김포검단시민연대) 서형배 위원장 등 지역 시민단체에서도 참석해 김 후보의 약속에 대한 뜨거운 지지와 응원을 보냈다고 했다.

이날 김 후보는 “과거 이재명 전 지사 시절에도 무료화 추진은 있었지만 그때는 이 전 지사의 치적 쌓기용에 불과했다”면서, “제대로 된 준비 없이 추진된 무료화는 법원에서 2차례나 제동이 걸리고, 고소‧고발을 일삼다가 결국 아무런 성과도 내지 못한 채 주민들에게 희망고문만 제공했다”고 말했다.

그러면서 “도지사 취임 즉시 고양과 김포 주민에 한해 우선적으로 일산대교 무료 통행 패스카드 제도를 도입하겠다.”며 “‘일산대교 무료화 추진 T/F'를 구성하여 여기에 김포시‧고양시‧국민연금공단 등을 참여시켜 일산대교 인수 등 통행료 무료화를 위한 모든 방법을 강구하겠다”고 밝혔다.

김 후보에 따르면, 한강에 놓여있는 교량 중 유일한 유료 교량인 일산대교는 단 1.8km를 통행하기 위해 주민들이 1,200원을 내야 하는 상황이며, 주 5일로 계산하면 한 달 평균 57,600원, 일 년이면 약 70만원에 육박한다. 꽉 막히는 서울 교통상황을 고려하면 일산대교를 피해 통행하기도 어렵다고 전했다.

김은혜 후보는 “일산대교 무료화는 선악 이분법적으로 추진할 사항이 아니라 어떻게 추진할 것인가가 중요하다”면서, “일산대교를 광역단체와 기초단체 간 협치하는 새로운 SOC 운영모델로 발전시켜 우리 주민들의 경제적 부담을 최대한 덜어드리겠다”고 강조했다.
