[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 김은혜 국민의힘 경기도지사 후보는 27일 경기 서부지역 발전을 위한 5대 공약을 공개했다고 밝혔다. 

이번 공약은 경기 서부의 해양관광자원을 활용·연계한 종합개발계획과 체계적인 지원대책을 담고 있으며, 구체적인 이행 계획이 담겨 있어 경기 서부 주민의 기대가 커지고 있다고 전했다. 

주요 공약 내용으로는 ▲경기서부지역을 통합하는 ‘경기해양클러스터 구축’ 및 ‘레저산업단지 구축’ ▲평택항의 체계적 관리와 운영을 위한 국가‘항만공사유치’ ▲물고기 양식장 및 관상어 축양업자를 위한 ‘공수산질병관리사 위촉’ 및 ‘찾아가는 이동진료반 운영’ ▲경기갯벌에 대한 생태조사 실시, 갯벌 관리방안 강구 ‘해양자원 보호대책 추진’▲‘여성어업인 바우처 사업 추진’ 등이 담겼다고 했다.

김후보 측은 서부발전을 위한 핵심 공약으로, 현재 기초자치단체별로 추진중인 각종 개발계획과 평택항을 비롯해 경기서부의 해양자원을 종합하는 해양클러스터 구축을 발표했다고 전했다. 

경기서부의 풍부한 해양자원을 집약시켜 지역의 성장 동력을 마련하겠다는 것이다. 이를 위해 시·군, 주민이 함께하는 경기해양클러스터 구축 협의체를 구성·운영계획을 명시했다고 했다. 

한편, 김후보는‘경기서부 요트 교육장 활성화’ 등 경기서부의 해양자원을 활용한 레저산업단지를 육성하는 공약도 함께 강조했다. 레저산업단지 구축으로 경기도를 레저의 도시로 만들겠다는 포부라고 전했다.  

또한 전국 5대 항만 중 유일하게 국가항만공사의 운영 대상에서 제외된 평택항만의 체계적인 관리와 운영을 위해 국가항만공사 유치를 공약했다. 국가항만공사 유치를 통해 평택항의 인프라를 개선하고 항만 배후단지 연계를 강화해 평택항을 활성화하겠다는 생각이다. 김후보는 “집권 여당의 후보인 만큼 정부와 긴밀한 협력을 통해 국가항만공사 유치를 추진하겠다”고 밝혔다.

기타 핵심 공약으로는 도내 양식장의 안정적인 물고기 양식, 관상어 축양 사업을 지원하기 위한 공수산질병관리 위촉과 찾아가는 이동진료반을 운영이 있다고 했다. 

또한 경기갯벌의 생태조사, 관리대책을 마련하여 어민들의 생업 터전인 해양자원을 보호하고 여성어업인 바우처 사업을 통해 어업인의 복지를 증진시킬 계획이라고 했다. 

김은혜 후보는 “경기도가 나서서 국가와 함께 경기서부지역 곳곳에 흩어져 있는 해양자원을 적극 활용하도록 지원한다면, 경기서부지역이 ‘기회의 땅’이 될 수 있을 것”이라고 말했다.
