[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 양주시는 지역화폐인 ‘양주사랑카드’ 20만원 이상 사용자와 20만원 이상 최초 충전자를 대상으로 소비지원금을 지원한다고 밝혔다.

이는 지역화폐의 빠른 유통과 순환을 통해 코로나19로 위축된 지역경제 활성화를 도모하고 지역 내 소비·생산·판매·고용 등 선순환 경제회복을 유도하기 위한 조치라고 했다.

이번에 지급되는 소비지원금은 지난해 시행한 3만원에서 2만원이 상향된 5만원이며 지원조건 충족시점에 즉시 지급되고, 특히, 지급받은 날로부터 1개월이 지나면 자동 소멸되기 때문에 반드시 기간 내에 사용해야 한다고 했다.

단, 생애최초 충전자는 소비지원금 사용 기간에 제한이 없으나 20만원을 모두 지출한 경우 중복 지원이 되지 않으며, 이에 따라 양주사랑카드 20만원 사용자와 생애 최초 20만원 이상 충전한 신규 이용자는 기존 지역화폐 충전액의 10% 인센티브(2만원)를 더해 5만원의 소비지원금과 함께 총 27만원을 사용할 수 있게 된다고 했다.

양주시 관계자는 “이번 소비지원금은 3개월간 예산범위 내에서 선착순으로 지원되는 사업”이라며 “시민들의 지역화폐 재충전을 유도해 지역화폐 소비를 촉진하고 지역경제 활력을 더하는 계기가 되길 기대한다”고 말했다.

한편 양주사랑카드는 지난 1일부터 실물카드 없이 휴대폰만으로 삼성페이를 통해 지역화폐 결제가 가능한 ‘모바일 간편결제 서비스’를 운영 중이라고 전했다.
