[김준호 기자 =태백시] 태백시의정비심의위원회(위원장 서영식)는 지난 18일 시청 소회의실에서 제1차 회의를 개최하여 2023년 태백시의회 의정비를 동결키로 결정하였다.

이날 회의는 위원 위촉을 시작으로 위원장 선출, 의정비심의위원회 운영과 의정비 결정에 대한 논의가 있었다. 그 결과 2023년 태백시의회 의원 의정비를 동결키로 하되, 2024년∼2026년 월정수당에 대하여는 매년 공무원 보수 인상율을 합산하여 반영하는 것으로 결정 되었다.

당초 태백시의회에서 4년간의 의정비를 동결키로 의견을 모은 바 있으나 이에 기속되지 않는 위원회에서는 의회의 의견을 존중하되 시민들에게 봉사하는 의원들의 적극적인 의정활동을 위해 2∼4년차의 월정수당은 공무원 보수 인상률을 반영하는 것으로 결정하였다. 

금년도 태백시의회 의원 의정비는 연3,949만원으로 이중 의정활동비로 연1,320만원(의정자료 수집연구비 월90만원 및 보조활동비 월20만원)이고 월정수당은 연2,629만원이다.

의정비심의위원회 관계자는 “태백시의회가 어려운 지역여건을 감안 4년 동안 의정비를 동결하겠다는 취지에 공감하는 것은 물론, 지역발전을 위해 봉사하는 의원들의 자긍심 고취와 지속적인 물가상승을 고려한 결정”이라며 “시민들로부터 의정비를 지원받는 의회 의정활동에 많은 관심과 격려를 부탁드린다”고 하였다.
